A : Singer - Sally Jane Hurst

Sally Jane Hurst’s voice has a sweetness and control that is deceptive in its power and depth. Her performance is always tailored to suit the venue, from small and intimate or large and celebratory.

If you want powerful emotional ballads Sally delivers classic lyrics in a deceptively simple and honest style giving her a unique blend of artistic interpretation and passion in one class package.
Sally has performed in some of London’s most prestigious music venues, such as The Royal Festival Hall, St. Martin’s In The Field, and The Barbican.
Moving to Sussex in 2000, she has been making her mark in a variety of ways, performing at the Brighton’s Komedia, and the Latest Music Bar, Worthing Pavilion and The Dome, and singing in the Jazz duo 'Indigo', as well as many other national venues. Graduating from the University of Hertfordshire, she is also a qualified teacher (BEd Hons) and artist (Bo:K Designs -

'Why Don't You Do Right' & 'Ain't No Sign' - with Phil Ball-Drums+Guitar / James Softly-Piano / Raydn Hunter-Bass

Fred’s Freeloaders

A natural, great intonation and a real feel for jazz; a lot of power when she cranks it up - quality!

Dan Rehahn – Limon y Sentimiento Latino

Exquisite vocal delivery of standards and new songs alike, the south coast's finest chanteuse never disappoints…

David Drew - Promoter, Chillout Sounds

Sally Hurst is the most exciting voice to hit the scene for a very long time. Fresh interpretations of classics bring standards into the contemporary arena, whilst her own material is outstanding... not to be missed.

Gordon Murray – Jazz @ Shoreham Harbour Club

Have gigged with Sally Hurst on a regular basis for over a year - a modern jazz group - and we have found her to be most professional and varied in songs to sing - fast or slow -her range and interpretation are excellent. I highly recommend Sally for any band.

John Beaver – MD Jazz @ The Dome, Worthing

Dear Sally, Just a quick note to say how much we all enjoyed your vocals with the trio on Sunday.

Lovely standards sung beautifully. Look forward to seeing you again next month.

Tom and Tabby - Bride & Groom (Jazz Duo, Wedding)

I just wanted say a massive ‘thank you’ for everything you did yesterday. Both Tabby and I thought the music was fantastic and helped to make the day absolutely perfect, and all of our guests commented on how good you were.

Matthew Davies - Songwriter

I had the pleasure of working with Sally in April 2010 after my sister discovered her sensational voice on the music pro website. I knew by my sister's enthusiasm that this voice must be a bit special...she was not wrong. I was so bowled over by the quality of her voice and its similarity to Eva Cassidy and how well it would match some of my songs. On the day of recording itself, Sally was prompt after driving a fair distance to get to the venue and despite meeting several new people in unfamiliar surroundings, I was blown away by her relaxed, easy manner, which if anything, calmed me and set the tone for the day. Aside from the obvious quality of her vocal, Sally had clearly learned the tracks by heart, which enabled the day to trip along effortlessly but also liberated the creativity of everyone present to try some inspired backing vocals and harmonies to other tracks. Sally freely shared her creative ideas, honesty and superior experience but without being over-controlling, just passionate to get the most out of the day. I have now worked with several other singers for a similar time slot and Sally covered the most material and to the highest quality. I would have no reservation in endorsing her to any other musician or working with her again
